The LGBTQ+ movement is constantly evolving and there are heated discussions in the community about the correct vocabulary and the right use of terminology and concepts. Over the past 15 years, Side by Side has produced a whole range of interesting books and other publications that touch on many topics – from recommendations on how to come out (or how to respond to someone else’s coming out), to the correct transgender terminology, to stories about the history of Side by Side Film Festival. To mark their ten-year anniversary in 2017, Side by Side presented a booklet dedicated to the festival’s work, which has become part of LGBTQ+ history and part of the wider Russian film festival community.
